How and why the color pink became so attractive to girls and women of all ages is kind of a mystery. If you were to ask 100 women why they like pink so much you would more then likely get 100 different answers. But what is up with the pink laptops that you see popping up everywhere?
There is no mystery to how the color is made. It is the simple mixing of red with white. This story of the invention of the color pink and the pink laptop starts way back in the 17thcentury.
It was that far back in history when the only pink objects were flowers. There were no laptops, pink or any other color. As resourceful as men and women were back then they came up with the word “pink” to describe the color that they saw on the flowers. People being people, the color pink on the flowers was not good enough. They wanted different shades of pink and set off to make them. It wasn’t too difficult, it just took varying degrees of different amounts of red and white.
A little more history about “pink” and then we are going to get back to the laptop. It was during the 1940′s when for some unknown reason pink started to become associated with girl babies. Then young girls hooked onto the color and started carrying their desire for all things pink into their teenage years. The rest as they say is history.
So what drives the sales of pink laptops? Are all these women that overly obsessed with the color pink in some sort of trance? Does pink make the computer work better? Does it reduce the price? Of course not…but to the “sisterhood” none of this matters.
Pink Laptops and The Reasons Girls Want Them
1. If your a teenage girl and want to be the center of attention, the pink laptop is like blood to a shark.
2. Why buy a black laptop when you can have a pink one? Enough said!
3. The Japanese have unleashed that darn Hello Kitty on us and it won’t relent until it paints everything pink.
4. Can you say fashion accessory?
5. Girls just want to have fun.
6. You can take the girl out of the trailer park but you can’t seem to rip the pink “fill in the blank” out of their hands.
7. I’ve been told that pink and shopping go hand in hand.
8. A pink laptop will get you noticed in a crowd. And who doesn’t want to get noticed in a crowd?
9. Can anybody really explain why girls like what they like?
10. If it is good enough for Barbie and all of her friends to have pink laptops then why shouldn’t all girls have them?
The bottom line is that pink laptops have the same technology as any other computer. All people want to show off their individual taste and style. Girls want to show off this part of their personality by being tacky. I can’t explain it and don’t think I even want to try to understand it.
