Lenovo Ideapad
Lenovo Idea pad Y530 is a low priced laptop which comes equipped with a lot of multimedia functionality. Lenovo is more known for expensive but sturdy business laptops namely the Thinkpad series. However, Lenovo has also launched a home laptop series with its IdeaPad laptops. The IdeaPad Y530 is a mid size laptop with sturdy construction and promoted as low-priced multimedia laptop.
Design and Features:
The Y530 model from Lenovo has a Core 2 Duo processor that works at 2.0 GHz. This laptop comes equipped with 2GB ram, running at 667MHZ. The hard drive capacity is 250GB and it runs at a speed of 5,400rpm. The laptop uses Intel G45 chipset as graphics card with 256MB memory dedicated for graphics usage. The dimensions of this device are 14.2 x 10.3 x 1.2-1.4 inches, with the screen size of 15.4 inches along the diagonal. Even with its sturdy design it is a lightweight laptop, weighing about 6 pounds.
This laptop from Lenovo has a comfortable keyboard. The keyboard design seems to be inspired from the ThinkPad laptops, which have excellent keyboards. The design also takes care of mouse buttons and mouse pad which are adequately placed for comfortable usage. Additionally the laptop design dissipates the heat efficiently so that no external laptop cooler is required.
Lenovo also introduced something known as frameless display in this laptop. This means that the surface of the display and its edges are at the same level. The screen works perfectly for multimedia as well as productivity applications.
The Good:
Lenovo Ideapad Y530 is a nice laptop with simple design and solid construction. It is very convincingly priced too. The presence of light-touch media controls and speakers with Dolby Home Theater sound makes the design much more appealing. Like the standard Lenovo laptops, this device also comes with pre-installed face recognition software and provides a decent battery life.
The Bad:
One of the advantages of this laptop is that it has an overly reflective screen. Overall it has a good design and not many disadvantages can be listed.
