Basic Requirements for College Laptops

With the ever increasing amount of technology going on these days, the need for a laptop in college is almost a must. The only reason why I say almost is because most colleges these days have computers provided for their enrolled students in a library or computer lab. Now, unless you plan on taking your entire desktop and modem to college, then I suggest that you get a laptop.

One basic requirement of a laptop is for it to have some decent speed and memory. There is nothing more annoying than having to wait on a slow laptop computer while trying to write a paper that is already annoying enough! So do yourself a favor and get a laptop that has a decent amount of hard drive and memory. The next thing that you want to consider is the size of the computer. The mini laptops are great for carrying to class, but lack the memory and speed that most big laptops have. They are much smaller and lighter, making it easier than ever to take with you on the go. If you plan on using your laptop to take notes in class, then you may want to consider getting one of these along with your regular laptop.

The other basic requirement that you may want to consider for your laptop for college is the battery. Battery life is also very important if you plan on taking your laptop to class or a place like Starbucks. Most batteries these days are either three cell lithium ion or six cell lithium ion batteries. These can last anywhere form 6 hour to about nine hours of battery life. When you upgrade to a better, longer lasting battery you also are increasing the price. I think that I would rather just go ahead and pay for a more expensive battery than have to deal with one that dies while I am taking notes in class. Thank you for reading this post on basic requirements for college laptops.
